The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely shipment and receipt of goods. The position requires managing shipping and receiving schedules, inspecting shipments, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with internal departments and external vendors. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload, inspect, and verify incoming goods against packing lists and purchase orders. Ensure that shipments are complete, free from damage, and properly recorded.
- Pick, pack, and label items for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements. Generate shipping labels and schedule pickups with carriers.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, incoming and outgoing shipments, and update inventory databases or systems.
- Safely load and unload goods from trucks or shipping containers, using appropriate tools or equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Create, update, and maintain records for shipments, receipts, and inventory.
