SUMMARY: The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling equipment. This position is for a hands-on problem solver, who is detail oriented, and able to work with minimal support.
- Maintaining safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations and alerting management to safety hazards that exist.
- Reading metric and imperial prints with GDT.
- Determining the optimal work steps, tooling, and fixturing to complete a part.
- Setting up, operating and maintaining CNC/Manual machinery to fulfill production orders with expected quality at or below expected cost.
- Using precision measuring tools to maintain accuracy and quality of parts.
- Flexing to other machines according to workload.
- Contributing to cost and lead time reduction through continuous improvements and innovation in
- manufacturing coming up with creative solutions to produce low volume parts cost effectively.
- Working with the team to keep the work area, machines, and tooling clean & organized and performing basic preventive maintenance on the equipment.
- Ensuring smooth hand-offs between shifts through regular communication
- Supporting and complying with all applicable laws, company policies and procedures including HSE, ISO and Quality policies and procedures applicable to the position.
- Performing other duties as required by supervisor.
