Apprenticeship in Switzerland


With around 70 apprentices, Syntegon is one of the largest training providers in the region. In close collaboration with the Wibilea AG training center in Neuhausen, we train highly qualified professionals in technical and commercial professions. For our apprenticeships, we guarantee the highest standards, an exciting environment, and top-notch support.

If you are interested in an apprenticeship at our Beringen site in Switzerland, the Wibilea AG training center in Neuhausen will oversee the initial steps. This includes foundational training years, which vary between 6 months and 2 years depending on the profession and specialization. The application phase leading to successful completion of the apprenticeship then takes place at Syntegon in Beringen.

In Switzerland, we offer apprenticeships in seven professions (3 or 4 years), all leading to a Swiss Federal VET Diploma (EFZ): polymechanic, automation technician, draughtsperson, IT specialist, logistics specialist, media technologist, and commercial clerk.

What is the application process for an apprenticeship at Syntegon in Germany like?

You apply online by submitting your resume, cover letter, and recent transcripts. Afterwards, you will receive a link to an online test. Once completed, we will review your application and test results.

Until when can I apply for an apprenticeship position in Germany?

You can apply each year starting from May through our online portal for the following year's apprenticeship start. Typically, all positions are filled by the end of the previous year. This means you should apply for your apprenticeship one year before completing your secondary education.

How are apprenticeships paid at Syntegon in Germany

Your monthly salary is approximately €1,000 (gross) in the first year of apprenticeship. It increases gradually in the following years.

Do I need a specific educational qualification to apply for an apprenticeship at Syntegon?

To secure an apprenticeship position with us, you need at least a secondary school leaving certificate.

How does the apprenticeship program at Syntegon in Germany work?

Let's take the example of the mechatronics apprenticeship: In the first year, you will receive foundational training to prepare you for starting in the company in the second year. Then, you will deepen and expand your knowledge.

Are there regular feedback sessions during the apprenticeship?

You will have feedback sessions every six months and as needed with your trainer.

What further training opportunities are available for apprentices?

You have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of training courses, including first aid, technical English courses, and the possibility to obtain a crane operator's license. Additionally, you can earn a technical high school diploma during your apprenticeship with us.

What does a typical career path look like after completing the mechatronics apprenticeship?

You start your career as an internal assembler. Soon, you will accompany your more experienced colleagues on external assembly jobs. Moreover, you have the opportunity to advance to a specialist assembler or chief assembler and broaden your horizons in other areas.
